Countries reporting cases of the Omicron variant

The Dutch health ministry has reported that the variant was detected in samples taken on 19 and 23 November

Nine cases have been identified in Scotland.

13 cases have been identified in England

England’s red list rules apply to Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe

The variant was first reported to WHO on 24 November from South Africa, where infections have risen steeply
