While articles of impeachment could originate in one of multiple committees, or even through a floor motion by a single representative, Democratic leaders have said that articles of impeachment in this case would originate, as they have historically, in the judiciary committee, chaired by Rep. Nadler.

It would be the committee’s job to draft Articles of Impeachment and bring them to the House floor.
A simple majority vote by the full House, where Democrats outnumber Republicans 235-198 (plus one independent and one vacant seat), would be required to impeach Trump.
Impeachment does not mean Trump leaves office, however. The vote must then go to the Senate.
