1 Sample collection

The CSA rover will be equipped with a canister in which to store samples that can then be returned to Earth and studied. The canister will be manipulated by a robotic arm that collects the rock and soil samples to be stored

2 Imaging

The rover will have cameras and a radio system. The science camera offers the highest quality images, while the three drive cameras will aid the remote drivers. There is also the lidar, which will take 3D digital images

3 Mapping

Localisation data from the rover will be logged by the GPS ground-truth system for analysis post mission. While the rover is on the surface, real-time localisation will come from the embedded visual odometry (EVO) system, made up of a computer unit and a stereo camera
