Want to stop shopping new? Here’s Bennett’s top advice for making the most of the clothes you have:
- Look after your already existing garments. Check your wash labels to prolong the life of your clothes and always treat stains rather than putting them straight in the machine.
- Get items fixed – rather than rewearing something that needs fixing, get it altered as soon as possible so the garment doesn’t fault any further.
- Try swapping clothes – it’s a great way to have a wardrobe revamp.
- Look at your already existing wardrobe and see if you could get a seamstress or someone nifty on the sewing machine to upcycle a few pieces. Crop them, chop them, change a dress into a top. There are lots of things you can do.
- Look at creative ways you can style your clothes – instead of pairing up the same jeans with your favourite jumper, try throwing the jumper over a dress instead.
