#6. Soo-jin received a LinkedIn request from a temp on her team. She noticed in his profile that he listed Google as his employer. How should Soo-jin handle this?
Since TVCs are not Alphabet employees, they may not represent themselves as such on resumes or external sites (e.g. social media sites like LinkedIn, Twitter, etc). Additionally, contractual terms between the supplier and Alphabet may bar any mention of Alphabet externally, including these channels.
If Soo-jin feels comfortable, she can address it with the temp directly. She can also report it anonymously through [redacted], or email [redacted] who can work with their employer to resolve.
Additionally, T-V-Cs should not:
- Sign any agreements on behalf of Alphabet, including non-disclosure agreements
- Authorize purchases on behalf of Alphabet
- Speak publicly on Alphabet’s behalf
- Have Alphabet business cards
There can be exceptions made to the guidelines depending upon the needs of the business. Please reach out to [redacted] to discuss such a need.
For additional information, please see our TVC communications policy.
