Younger generations now make up a majority of eligible voters

Eligible voters in millions

Notes: Eligible voters are US citizens ages 18 or older. Prior to 1996, the CPS did not collect information on citizenship in a uniform way. Estimates for the voting eligible population prior to 1996 should be interpreted with caution, as they are not directly comparable to estimates from 1996 and after. Younger generations include Millennials and Gen X, people ages 18-50. Boomers and previous generations include people age 51 and over.
