This time of year is full of great local produce. Buy it while it’s really fresh. I stay hyperlocal: my bowl in the kitchen.

Tick, tock

On the last Sunday in October, when the clocks go back, it is possible for me to sleep 25 hours in one day. This is pleasing.

Trick or treat?

As if you need to ask. Give a wandering cat a Gourmet treat, then watch them do their famous trick of making it vanish.

We pets aren’t at all keen on the fire-making and whizz-banging that this time of year produces in housemates. Keep us inside.
